Zach Woolhouse

Zach Woolhouse has been a band director in Keller ISD at Hillwood Middle School since 2015 and co-owner of the Young Saxophonist's Institute since 2013. Before his time in Keller, he finished his undergraduate work at The University of Houston, where he was served as a  member of the nationally competitive Seraphim Saxophone Quartet, the Moores School of Music Jazz Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and was a section leader and drum major in the Spirit of Houston marching band.

Zach's professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi, Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), Texas Music Educator's Association (TMEA), and the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA). He has most recently shared his knowledge of beginning saxophone pedagogy and practices at the NASA biennial conference in 2020 and the TMEA convention in 2022. As an educator, his goal is to bring the best pedagogy available to his students and seek fun and creative ways to engage students in the learning process.

"I love YSI because it provides students and staff alike with an enriching, musical, and fun experience with the saxophone. We have truly built a community that supports each other in personal and musical growth. I love seeing our students leave camp with a fire about saxophone and a pride in what they have and will accomplish."
