Activities

The day is broken up into the following topics:

  • equipment

  • 6th Grade Pedagogy

    • embouchure​

    • hand position

    • body balance

    • articulation

    • vibrato

    • note introduction

    • breakdown of the 6th grade year

  • pedagogy for the advancing student

This is an interative experience. You will be playing a lot throughout the week and will have the opportunity to observe our world class staff in masterclass settings.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in our end of camp concert, putting your newfound skills to good use!

You will receive 12 hours of CPE credit at the completion of the camp.

Camp Concert starts at approximately 6:00 PM on Friday. For those interested in participating in the camp concert, call time will be 5:00 PM.

Tuition

$250 for tuition

$250  for supply kit (optional), includes

      - silk cleaning swab

      - cork grease

 

Directors will need an alto saxophone and the equipment listed above. We will provide 2 reeds for the workshop.

Tuition, Payment, and Cancellation Policy

Payment is due at the time of registration. Payment in full must be made once registration is received. If payment is not received within 48 hours, your registration will be deleted and you will need to complete the registration process again. Enrollment will close 1 week prior to the start of the workshop.

 

If the attendee needs to withdraw prior to May 15th (our early registration deadline), the attendee will be refunded the full tuition. If the attendee needs to withdraw after May 15th, but before camp has started, the attendee will be refunded for tuition, but NOT for the cost of the starter kit - we order starter kits in advance to ensure they arrive in time for camp, so starter kit orders will begin to be processed after May 15th. No refund will be given once the workshop has started. YSI also reserves the right to cancel or alter some aspect of a program, including program itinerary, dates, location or duration, as a result of unforeseen circumstances, or for any other reason. YSI is not responsible for costs incurred by the attendee in preparing for a program that is altered or cancelled. The attendee acknowledges that if they are dismissed or depart for any reason, or choose to leave early from the program, no refunds can be granted. Further, the attendee is responsible for any and all costs of early departure whether for medical reasons, dismissal, personal emergencies or otherwise. These costs include, but may not be limited to medical evacuation and costs, medical treatment, plane, train, taxi or bus fare, meals, accommodations, and compensation and expenses for staff that may accompany the attendee. In addition, in the event of an emergency, the Emergency Contact Person designated on the attendee's application will be contacted for notification and communication purposes.
